At PHA-Adult Medicine,
our on-call physician is reached directly when you call. There is no answering service, no middle person. This enable us to serve
you more quickly and efficiently.
1. Please be thoughtful of why you are calling and of the time of
day you are calling.
2. Call the on-call physician for urgent issues that cannot wait until the office
is opened.
3. If you have an issue that has developed during open hours, please call the office and
do not wait until after
hours. This will enable your physician to have your chart
available for review and to offer better advice.
This will also enable us to give you an
urgent appointment, if necessary.
4. When you call, please have your pharmacy phone number in the event
you need a prescription.
5. Please call the on-call physician only when the office is closed
at night or on the weekends.
6. There may be times when the on-call physician can answer
immediately, because he/she is on the phone
with another party. In that case,
leave a brief message, providing full name, your doctor's name, reason you
are calling
and contact phone number.
7. Please remove blocking devices to allow the on-call physician to
return your call without further delay.
